Also, I’d love to get your thoughts on whether the state government should be limiting parents’ abilities to take their children to ‘drag’ performances.
I was reading that and did understand where you’re coming from there - definitely more libertarian in nature, it’s a slippery slope to have more government control and overreach. I’m not sure where I stand either. But I do think we as a society need to make some changes in our social acceptability norms. Example, when did parents start to think it was morally sound, or ethically just to bring their children to those types of events ? I remember my Mom going to Vegas as a kid, and telling us about the Showgirls, I asked if we could go and see a show, and she said to us, not until you’re older, there is nudity. So , parents should be making these judgements on behalf of their children’s protection especially of their innocence, they only get it for a short time, why take it away so quickly? To me, this all screams; I’m going to use my kids as my Virtue Signaling props to show how “accepting” I am … blah, blah …
So maybe the government doesn’t get involved , but somehow society should take a stand.
Thanks Cassie! I hope I offered some valuable insight there, I try not to bloviate too much!
Love this Local edition! Thanks for digging into and interpreting all this for us. Looking forward to next weeks take.
